Estonian State decorations bestowed for Danish citizens

The Republic of Estonia celebrates her 87th anniversary on Thursday, 24. February 2005.

On the occasion of national Day, the President of the Republic of Estonia Mr. Arnold Rüütel awarded state decorations (orders) of Estonia for the following citizens of Denmark for their services to Estonia and her people:

• Finn Andersen, promoter of the Estonian- Danish cultural contacts, the 4th Class Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana;

• Søren Claus Kjær, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Estonia in Aarhus, The 4th Class Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana;

• Ulla Vestergaard Rasmussen - supporter of Estonia's energy industry, the 5th Class Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana;

• Jens Koefoed, Commander, promoter of the cooperation between the Danish Home Guard and the Estonian Defence League, the 3rd class Order of the Cross of the Eagle;

• Ove Urup-Madsen, Major, promoter of the Estonian-Danish defence cooperation, the 4th class Order of the Cross of the Eagle.

The President of Estonia will bestow high state decorations on Wednesday, 23 February 2005 in Tallinn.
