Foreign Minister Urmas Paet at the meeting of the foreign ministers of Nordic and Baltic countries

August 25-26 - Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will take part in the Nordic and Baltic countries (NB8) meeting of foreign ministers. This will take place on the Danish island of Bornholm. The Foreign Ministers shall discuss a number of international issues such as EU neighborhood policy; including the development of democracy, a continuation of reform processes and the fight against terrorism in the proximity of the EU. At the same time, issues concerning Kosovo will be reviewed. Related topics include reform of the UN and questions that arise from the upcoming summit to the Acehi peace process and the situation in the Western Sahara.
Within the framework of this meeting, the Foreign Minister will open an exhibition on Estonian leather, glass, and ceramics used in the art of book binding, where the ferry tales of Hans Christian Anderson shall be displayed commemorating the 200th anniversary of this well known children’s author.
