Conference " Independence of The Baltic States" at Berlingske Media House on 29.08.2016 .


On 29th of August, the embassies of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in cooperation with Berlingske newspaper and Baltic Development Forum hosted a conference at Berlingske Media House called Independence of The Baltic States. The aim was to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of restoration of independence of the tree Baltic States and to discuss the potential of entrepreneurship and innovation in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. After welcome words from former Danish Foreign Minister Uffe Ellemann-Jensen, who looked back on the historic events 25 years ago, the incredible development of the Baltic States, and the strong Baltic-Nordic cooperation, the floor was taken over by representatives of successful Baltic start-ups. Estonia was represented by Linnar Viik and Tobias Stone. Linnar Viik, co-founder of Pocopay, spoke about how Estonia has developed and moved flexibly alongside with technological developments and brought out reasons of Estonia’s rapid developments. Tobias Stone, founder of Indentit.ee, spoke thoroughly about Estonia’s e-government and e-residency project. Interest in the event was remarkable.
